My Personal Story
Welcome to Learn To Live Free! My name is Robert Morrison. I grew up and attended school with four siblings in a rural county in North Central Florida. To earn money as a kid after school and on weekends I mowed lawns, raked leaves, and chopped firewood, etc. At age 14, with permission from the superintendent of schools, I got my first job with a local theater.
At age 18, bored with school, I dropped out and enlisted in the USMC where I was thrust into an environment totally alien to me, but perseverance and determination got me through. Traits that have helped me throughout my life.
During my first enlistment, I earned a high school equivalency diploma, and towards the end of that enlistment I obtained an early discharge to attend Junior College on the GI Bill. For me, the transition was very difficult. I dropped out and returned time and time again. Eventually, with the help and inspiration from a counselor, I managed to find the motivation, determination, and drive needed to get through to graduation and received an associate’s degree.
With that as incentive, I enrolled at an upper level university, but it was just as difficult. Once again, every day I had to push myself and dig down deep inside for motivation, and then do it all over the next day, and the next, until I graduated and received a bachelor’s degree.
My Journey
Years of working 9-to-5 as an employee for a retirement plan that became more insecure every year, and with a boss looking over my shoulder put constraints on my desire for independence. I became despondent and wanted my freedom, independent income, and debt relief. I started looking for a better way so I opted out of the rat-race, and started looking for more from life.
I have been a social worker, realtor, electronics technician, and publisher of a hobby magazine, which gave me my first opportunity to work from home as an entrepreneur. Eventually I discovered internet marketing. Being an internet marketer, provides unlimited opportunities with low startup costs when compared to conventional businesses, but it doesn’t start or end there.
At first I was drawn in by a company that eventually let me down. I lost everything and was in financial ruin. I started searching for a way out. It wasn’t easy. I stumbled along the way and had many setbacks, but I persevered. To say the least, I lost even more money. Along the way I encountered many “get rich quick” schemes and programs so weak in conception that they were doomed to fail. I knew what I wanted, but to a considerable extent, didn’t know how to go about achieving it.
I am still recovering, but have learned from my mistakes. To be successful requires proper preparation, commitment, hard work and the mindset to persevere and push through. It may take some more time than others, but having the proper mindset with proper training can set you on the path to success.
Setback
Shortly after I began my journey in internet marketing, I had triple bypass surgery. This was an awakening experience, and as I recovered I became determined to grow with this business so I could better deal with health care and have the means to spend the rest of my life in freedom enjoying travel and leisure with more time to spend with family and friends.
